Often when we take our precious little babies out, we need to put them into places that leave us shuddering. Places where clearly other babies have been doing goodness knows what, and the area has not been cleaned in an effective or sanitary way. Lets face it. Babies make mess. That is not the issue. If the mess is not cleaned up though, excessive germs are the result. None of us want to expose our babies to overly unsanitary conditions.

There is nothing worse than going to the supermarket to buy some groceries, putting your baby in the shopping trolley chair from which she catches a cold. This cold then gradually makes it way through the whole family, causing sleepless nights for everyone, days home from work and a small fortune spent at the doctor or pharmacy.

High chair covers are the answer. High seat covers are adaptable cover that you can apply to restaurant high chairs, shopping trolleys and generally anywhere you need your baby to sit and you do not trust the sanitation of the seat.

When shopping for a high seat cover, think about the design and where you are likely to use it. Some are better than others. Remember your baby will always be moving about, swiveling to look at every new thing, so consider how the different covers are secured to the chair. Does it have slots so you can use the high chair harness? Does it have an elastic band? Which type of cover do you think will do the best job at protecting your child safe?
Reversible Covers
Some manufacturers such as Pure & Honest Kids make reversible high seat covers. Back and front have different designs in these cases, but either can be used. These can be very handy for multiple uses when your baby spills something. Sometimes you just cannot get home to clean it properly before you need to use it again. In these cases, if you have a reversible cover, for the next use you just flip it over. Your baby doesn’t have to sit in their mess and you don’t have the public embarrassment of pulling out a dirty high chair seat cover to install on an apparently clean high chair.

Like all such products, the designs for these covers are very diverse. Typically you will not be using these at home, so considerations of your home decor are not very relevant. All you really need to consider are the designs you like and the designs that will cover up food stains the best. A busy design will usually camouflage stains, which will help maintain a clean and fresh appearance over the long term.
