Incubator and Baby Carriers

Research has established the striking similarities between the popular modern day concept of babywearing (also referred to as Kangaroo Care) and the age old method of incubation. Now, Lucky Baby introduces its ‘Side Plus All Mesh’ to provide a unique user experience based on these similarities.

Atlanta, 6th March, 2014

Acclaimed baby-wearing product manufacturer Lucky Baby is expected to introduce ‘Side Plus – All Mesh’ in the USA. This innovation from the award winning company is built around the similarities between babywearing and incubators as revealed by a number of recent studies. Use of baby wearing products are rapidly increasing all over the world amongst today’s busy parents b because baby carriers allow parents the freedom of attending to the needs of their babies, while still enabling them to perform various everyday activities.

One striking study has shown a relationship between incubation and babywearing. Unable to afford incubators, a team of South American newborn-care specialists opted to wrap the premature babies around their mothers using a sling like arrangement. To their relief, all the babies flourished despite the lack of incubators. This is commonly referred to as Kangaroo Care, where baby is placed in direct skin contact with either one of the parents. It is believed that the stable body temperature of the parents can regulate the temperature of the infant more efficiently than the incubators. This is why Kangaroo Care is highly recommended for premature babies that no longer require intravenous therapy and oxygen. At present, approximately 82% of neonatal intensive care cases in the United States rely on Kangaroo Care. In South Africa, hospitals actively encourage the mothers to act as human incubators, with great success. The researchers believe that the proximity of the mothers enhanced their development, often better than technology would. In 2010, a 51% reduction in newborn mortality rates was reported, when stabilized babies received body warmth and breast milk.

The evidence is clear—Kangaroo Care is regarded as an effective method of caring for premature babies and there are several baby carriers on the market that assists parents in this endeavor. However, it is not only premature babies that enjoy the benefits of being close to their parents. All babies, and even toddlers reap benefits from baby wearing. It is with this in mind that Lucky Baby endeavors to continually introduce baby carriers like the Side Plus All Mesh, that makes baby wearing and caring a little easier for parents. The Side Plus All Mesh can be worn through several stages of development, from infancy to toddlerhood. For Infants, the Side Plus All Mesh features a unique head and back support board, which can be removed as baby grows. The Side Plus All Mesh can be worn as a cradle, on mom/dad’s chest, or their backs as baby gets older. However, what makes the Side Plus All Mesh unique, is that it was created entirely out of a mesh fabric, which ensures baby’s comfort because it absorbs moisture, and also because the fabric is allowed to stretch, thus molding around parent and baby’s shape.

The Side Plus All Mesh will not only provide much needed closeness between baby and parent, but also ensures comfort during seasonal changes and baby’s growth and development”.
